Modern web experiences create a unique challenge—the presentation and environment in which they exist are almost limitless. Desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones each have their benefits, but the dizzying number of devices and types make it nearly impossible to predict the best image output that will satisfy a broad audience. In addition, high-resolution images may provide the best image display, but they will destroy bandwidth and squelch a customer’s interest before a web page finishes its render.

However, this approach is a drain on creative resources and does not guarantee the best user experience. This causes a common online dilemma: How can a website balance fast delivery with high-quality imagery while specifically tailoring it to a customer’s given device?
