Enterprise E-Commerce Challenges: The 2023 LiquidPixels Survey

By: LiquidPixels | February 25, 2023 | 2 Min Read

65% of e-commerce businesses still find it challenging to deliver optimized and responsive product imagery

The results are in from our 2023 e-commerce survey and the data are compelling.

We asked 600 industry professionals about the e-commerce website challenges they face at companies with annual revenues of over $50M. Here are some of our key findings.

74% of respondents said that their company website is “somewhat or very important” to the overall success of their business, and 40% felt that their websites failed to to create a personalized and connected experience for their customers.

In addition, we learned that 63% think providing high-quality images is a struggle.

These e-commerce challenges can be attributed partly to the fact that more than one-third (35%) of e-commerce companies do not have a digital asset management (DAM) workflow in place.

DAMs store files like images and videos in one place to keep them secure, offering features like user permissions so that companies can maintain control of their asset management. These are critical tools. Without them, there is a risk of mishandling, misusing, or even losing key files.

Here are a few of the other key e-commerce challenges we learned from our survey:

22.8% want to show their products in 3D, but do not have 3D assets. Meanwhile, about 19% do have 3D assets, but do not know how best to display them.

29.5% use optimization solutions, but they do not integrate well with their tech stack.

Looking Ahead

LiquidPixels-Survey-7-2023of companies plan to update their e-commerce websites in 2023, with the majority budgeting $100,000 to $1M on upgrades.

While most companies plan to invest in their websites, they need to consider technologies that will integrate with their existing tech stacks and benefit their entire business ecosystems.

Companies need a visualization platform that enables them to create high-quality images on the fly, without slowing down their website or creating a large library of duplicate images. They need a complete imagery solution like LiquiFire Platform.
